Bidwells appointed to lease retail and leisure space at Mill Yard in Cambridge

Socius and Railpen have appointed Bidwells as leasing agent for the ground-floor amenity spaces at Mill Yard, the 180,000 sq ft mixed-use campus currently under construction in central Cambridge.

Set around a new 1.5-acre public park, Mill Yard will deliver a mix of workspaces, homes and community amenities designed to reflect the independent, creative character of nearby Mill Road. Bidwells’ Cambridge-based retail and leisure team will lead the leasing of more than 5,500 sq ft of space, focusing on local operators that will bring variety and vibrancy to the neighbourhood.

The available spaces include:

1,748 sq ft restaurant and wine bar with south-facing outdoor seating, forming a gateway into Mill Yard from Mill Road.

1,187 sq ft café or bakery at the southern entrance, welcoming visitors arriving from Cambridge station.

2,688 sq ft nursery in a bespoke two-storey building with a secure outdoor play area.


These uses will complement the wider offer at Mill Yard, which includes a café and events space, gym and wellness facilities, an outdoor fitness area and landscaped gardens to enhance biodiversity, creating a lively and inclusive community in the heart of Cambridge.

Part of Railpen’s wider Cambridge innovation cluster, Mill Yard is the first of its developments now on site, with completion expected in early 2027.
