Place Management Specialist, Populate has hosted a number of events, as part of the London Festival of Architecture, a month-long programme of activities to celebrate architecture and city-making throughout June 2025.
Already this month, Populate has welcomed visitors to the Maggie’s Centre at the Royal Marsden for a tour led by Ab Rogers Design, and held an event about ‘Shaping Shared Futures' that explored our approach to early activation projects. We have hosted laboratory tours with The Institute of Cancer Research, a walking tour of the London Cancer Hub Campus and an Open Day at Europe’s leading district for cancer research. Populate and Sutton Community Dance have also collaborated to bring powerful public performances that represent the LFA’s theme of ‘Voices’ to the London Cancer Hub.
Still to come, we’re excited to host another walking tour at the world-leading campus dedicated to cancer research, treatment, and innovation.
Plus, we’re excited to announce a Community Garden: Plant & Learn event, where the local community is invited to help shape and enhance the newly opened garden space. The community garden, which is also home to the Moon Bloom sculpture, created by Adrienne Lau from Edgy Collective, a rain-harvesting moon gate and urban garden that celebrates the Harvest and Moon Festivals for all communities in Sutton, is a collaborative project between Sutton Council, Successful Sutton and the designer.

Commenting on the LFA events hosted at the London Cancer Hub, Populate’s Joss Taylor says: “It’s been great to welcome the local community, families and those interested in architecture, life sciences and Sutton, to the London Cancer Hub as part of LFA 2025.
“These events have been a great opportunity for both London Cancer Hub partners and visitors alike, helping demonstrate the pioneers that are already on site and showcasing its evolution into a global centre of excellence in cancer innovation and drug discovery.”
