Socius supports the local business community and helps drive success

Through our MK Gateway project, Socius is proud to once again be pledging our support to the local business community, by sponsoring the Culture & Arts category at the Milton Keynes Business Achievement Awards (MKBAA) 2023.

Milton Keynes is a city alive with culture, arts and creativity and we look forward to celebrating a number of organisations that have made a worthwhile contribution to MK’s economy and community through its cultural and artistic endeavours, in our role as category sponsor at MKBAA 2023.

Milton Keynes is proud to be ‘Better by Design’ and its city strategies propose a vision that promotes growth, innovation, diversity and culture. As part of every project, we embrace and engage local communities to understand the heritage and sense of place and create a strategy for culture and art that helps to visually communicate the scheme’s unique position within the community.

For MK Gateway, the principle aim of the mixed-use development is to create connections and a deeper relationship with people and the environment through public art and interventions that bind together art and narrative, along with cultural aspects of place through a collaborative approach. These plans include an outdoor public square, with green space, which will host outdoor dining, pop-up events, community activities and public art.

In addition to our MKBAA support, and in order to further our backing of the growing network of organisations in the city, we’ve chosen to sponsor the Sporting Lunch club, which Milton Keynes Business Leaders Partnership (MKBLP) has recently acquired, continuing the legacy of Milton Keynes' oldest and most famous Sporting Lunch, in aid of SportsAid (Eastern Region).

The quarterly events, which have seen famous faces from the sporting world - including Eddie ‘The Eagle’ Edwards, Simon Shaw MBE and Luther Blissett - take to the stage, are an opportunity for local businesses to network, while raising funds to support young people who are making their way towards a career in professional sport.

Liam Ronan-Chlond, head of engagement at Socius, explains: “Having previously championed the Milton Keynes Business Achievement Awards as a headline sponsor, we’re excited to be back supporting local businesses and organisations again in 2023, but this time with a focus on culture and art.

“Socius is committed to creating long-term relationships in the city, building crucial partnerships that will help unlock challenges and enable us to work collectively to deliver on shared ambitions for the community, local authority, businesses and our investors.”
